(Abstract Portrait Series)
"People Past and Present - Beyond the Temple Steps" is a series of abstract portraits of people some whom have achieved professional recognition for their contributions to society. Each person has disabilities of various types. Many of whom in addition to their professional capacity represent causes of disability rights and more. They have been role models and an inspiration for people disabled and abled bodied. The theme is a socio-historical idiom where the perceptions of the disabled were not allowed beyond the steps to enter a temple as considered imperfect. This attitude through human history has been symptomatic at times and even in contemporary society to deem the disabled less than when the reality of their roles and influence is greater and yet still does not receive the full potential and acclaim it should. It is by the leading figures to their respective professions and inspire others in humanity of their path.
